Default Post season scouting question.

I was just wondering if u guys try to go into the woods as scent-free as possible while out scouting in the summer.

Do you think its better to try to always go as scent-free as possible or it doesnt matter?

It won't hurt anything that's for sure, but I don't go to the extreme that I do during the season. I think you can scout an area starting now and going through August and not worry too much about scent. When it gets to September, I would start paying a little more attention to detail.

I very rarely worry about being sent free no matter what time of the year it is.

Winter and spring I don't worry about it. Rarely do alot of scouting after that unless it's a light rain. Just prefer to do most of my scouting right after season or early spring.

covering your scent well shouldnt be the biggest of your worrie especially in the summeer when your not hunting because when it raind it will all be washed away from the wood and while your hunint you just gotta play the wind

100% agree with Hunter 59. If you scout now after season is over and don't pay attention to the scent you leave behind, any spooked deer will be back on their normal pattern well before next hunting season. However, try to do the same thing in late August or September and you'll likely affect the deer's routine.
