What is this deer magnet????
While travelling through northeast Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, I've run across small groves of plants that seem to really be "deer magnets!"
I'll try to discribe this plant as best as I can remember.
It looks like wild crops of "woody" plants, like oak sapplings, about 1 1/2" in diameter. It grows about 6-8' tall, it is not evergreen, and looks similar to what a "post" oak sappling might look like! (straight trunk, few branches, andbroad leaves)
Also, this plant produces a type of berry, or bean pod. (next time I see it I'll find out for sure!)
One thing that I've noticed about these stands of plants, is that they are deer magnets! Itseems that every other plant has been rubbed by bucks, and there are deer trails throughout the fields!
Does anyone know what this plant is???
Thanks!
