Default Son's First Deer

This year my 14 year old son was VERY serious about deer hunting and has been very excited about it since this spring. He finally got him a nice doe on Saturday morning. We had been out many times and he had yet toget one close enough to shoot.

It came in to about 65 yards and he put his870 right on her anddropped her in 1 shot, a perfect double lung shot that couldn't have been placed better if he tried!! I was so happy for him and so proud all at the same time.

Now....time to start working on something with horns.......

I felt bad for him the week before. We had a blind and a tree-stand setup on opposite ends of the woods. I let him choose where he wanted to be. I took the other. Opening morning, I kill 2 deer within 15 minutes of each other with my muzzle and he didn't see a darn thing.

I wish he had been hunting with me when he got it. He decided to hunt with his cousin (older) that morning and not where we were hunting. So I let him go and went to our spot by myself.

He did GREAT !!!
