Single shot vs. Pump guns
I'm debating whether to go with either a new 12 gauge rifled barrel for my encore or get a new pump gun. I'll the years that i've been hunting i've never gotten or taken more than one shot at a deer but there is laways that voice in the back of my head to not use a single shot because of the what ifs. like what if i need to shoot fast again or what if i see another deer right after i shoot the first one...Is anybody in the same boat i'm in right now?

RE: Single shot vs. Pump guns
I am from Ohio and think single shot vs. pump is a matter of preference. In the last few years with the newer muzzle loaders I have seen a whole bunch of people go to them from a pump or semi auto. I prefer pump, andI for one have gotten that extra shot off and made my kill. With out it, the deer would have been gone, mostly my error buti did fill my tag with that 2nd shot. Just my 2cents worth hope it helps.

Your encore will have a much better trigger than a shotgun with a rifled barrel on it. That would be enough to do it for me right there.

I like a pump but some of my buds that hunt with the encore swear by them. Thery are a nice weapon.
