What's in your hunting pack?
I am just curious what you guys/gals carry in your hunting packs when hunting deer?
Here is what i carry for regular day trips: -Scents/cover scents -tissue paper -trail marker tape/duct tape(camo) -knives (skinning/multitool) -binoculars -first aid kit (small) -mirror/camera/batteries -flashlight/compass/lighters -extra clothing (shirt/underwear/socks/pants) -poncho/emergency blanket -garbage bags -rope & string -brass snare wire |

I have 2 packs
1 is for short bow or gun hunts ( AM or PM) The other is for where I plan on being out a longer time. 1 Duct tape pen 2 knives limb saw water snack bars rope TP flash light and a head lamp extra set of batterys compass and a gps cover scent bug spray a thin light rain coat Camera 2 is biger and has the stuff in 1 and extra socks more food more water a better rain coat and pants Multi tool band aids and some aspirin , sinis meds ect. 2 way radio Depending on where ,when and the weather I will add as to my needs Johnch |

Extrashirt, hat,glovesfor those days that swing in temp. or if I get wet.

In my pack:
scents/cover scents camera folding saw maps/gps/compass TP first aid kit(small) survival gear(waterproof matches etc) extra socks,maybe a shirt rope(small nylon) trail tape knives bags,wipes In my hip sack: My muzzleloading gear(extra bullets, powder charges etc) water/snacks around my neck: calls binos |

Well, I never said tags or permits b/c they're in my wallet! :)(hopefully I don't lose that!) And for those that are wondering where my knife is, it's on my belt.
Oh, and safety harness is a good one! But I have it on going into the woods and going out of the woods. It's one of the first things I put on and one of the last things I take off (depending on the situation......i.e. if you going from stand hunting to stalking, yada yada yada). |

Actually, i just went out with a small pack that had
-bleat can -grunt call -tags -trail marking/GPS -knife -string(to bring bow or gun up in stand) -bottle of water -can of skoal (dont forget the essentials)haha -mask -flashlight -binos -rangefinder WOW thats alot |

Inside main pack: Sparethermal t-shirt 2 extra pairs of socks Primos "L'il Can" doe bleat Rattle bag HS Strut Hammerin' crow call HS Strut single reed turkey mouth call Big Rivergoose flute Salty Ducks hand made mallard duck call (beautifulcall from a guy out by the Chesapeake Bay!) First aid kit Outdoorsman's kit (compass, flashlight, buck knife, leatherman multi-tool, firestarter, mirror, etc..) 2 sets of camo gloves Camo head net Camo bandana Priceless: An old NY State hunting license of my dad's with 1 deer tag removed. My mom found it and gave it to me. It gives me a feeling like my dad is with me when I go hunting.... Butch A. |
