Default MT deer herd

How are the Northern Montana mule / whitetail deer doing this year? We'll be headed to North Central MT in Nov. & am super excited! I hear there are lots of 'yotes round those parts too!

The deer herd from Malta east to ND is still recovering from the terrible winter of 2010-11, then the floods of that summer and EHD die off, especially whitetails. FWP has increased doe tags for some reason. I spoke at a public meeting regarding this, I feel it is to soon to allow more tags, and in my opinion they were slow to react in the first place. Mulies are doing better, myself, living on the "High Line", I still hunt other areas of the state for my deer.

Lots of coyotes and wolves. Get a wolf tag while your up there. The non resident wolf tag is like $50 bucks...
