I love to shoot ducks and geese, but boy.....do they taste like CRAP!!!!!!

The only thing I have found there good for is to make jerky out of them. That is pretty good. Anyone else got any other recipes to take that wild liver like taste out of them?

Cube the breasts up and wrap each one in a little strip of bacon just enough to cover the whole piece once around and put a tooth pic in each piece to hold them together. Then take a tin foil disosable pan and place the covered pieces in the pan in one layer. Then put them on the grill on about medium high heat, or higher depends how crispy you want the bacon. Do one side for about 5-10 minutes or until the the grease from the bacon starts to fry and then flip them over and do the same thing on the other side. You can also add Lawery' s or any other type of seasoning for taste. They are absolutly GREAT!!!! the onyl bad thing is it takes a while to prepare but the are well worht it. You can' t even taste the wild in them the bacon just sucks it right out, and these are duckyderves. Enjoy.

Cut the breasts into strips and marinade them overnight in worstershire sauce and Italian dressing. Then take them, veggies, and bacon, and make them into kabobs on toothpicks. Wrap the bacon on as the last step. Then grill them, they are very good. You can also cook them in the oven in a cream of mushroom sauce with veggies. Both good. Just do a google search and you will find plenty of recipes.

don' t eat divers or shovellors. most divers have grey legs.

mallards taste pretty good no matter how you prepare them.

I only shoot and eat teal, mallards, and woodies. There are many ways to cook them that will make you never go back to chicken again. Isn' t there a recipe thread on this forum? First time back since last waterfowl season for me and haven' t had time to look around again.

Best way to eat a duck or goose:

Get a hickory log.
Salt and black pepper the duck or goose real heavy.
Nail the bird onto the log.
Toss in the oven at 350 degrees for about 6 hours.
After 6 hours, take the duck off the log.
Then, throw away the duck and eat the log!!!!!!

In all seriousness, the best way is to cut it up in little chunks, marinate it for about 24 hours in italian dressing, and worchestire sauce, then wrap it with a small piece of bacon, and grill them. They taste great!!!

Don' t eat divers??!!!

You can eat any duck, and most divers are indiscernable from puddlers if cooked right. The only ducks I generally pass on are spoonies because I' ve seen a lot of them with rice breast and mergansers because . . . well . . . if you EVER try to clean one you will know what I mean. You will gag because of the rotten fish smell.

Thanks to those guys who only shoot teal and mallards, I' m getting a lot of great meals from all the " other" ducks.

hey DUCKNBAG I' ll shoot whatever I want to shoot. Did I ever say I threw away any of the meat I shoot? NO. Oh yeah, and of course your gonna eat...what your going to eat. Use your head when you reply or have your 3 year old daughter reply for you, hers has to be more intelligent than yours.
