It's about more than speed or volume --- it's also about mass, with Hevi, you get all three.

That is accurate Doc.....the denser shot will simply retain more
ENERGY (hit harder) at longer ranges. It equates to cleaner
kills and more effective shots.

I have been able to use a smaller shot size (more pellets) with
greater knockdown power by using the Hevishot family of
ammo.....it is a WIN WIN for me

I'll take volume over speed everyday, all day!!!! I use Hevi-Metal 3" 1-1/4oz of 3's does a nasty job on both ducks and geese. I use it as a 1st shot on geese over dekes and it really lays their head flat on their backs when it gets there and then I back that up with 3" 1-1/4oz of 2's and BB's.

I totally agree Doc....I have not shot any waterfowl shells that
compare with either Hevishot Duck or Hevimetal

Second, I also use Hevimetal 3" 2's the majority of the time
on puddle ducks and virtually have NO cripples

Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but hevi shot 3" 2's are my favorite too.

I shoot the same ones plus Hevishot Duck 4's. Never used
a better performing waterfowl load
