Default Duck Stamp Increase is Now Law

FROM DELTA WATERFOWL:

President Obama has signed the Duck Stamp Act of 2014, which increases the price of the U.S. federal duck stamp to $25 beginning next season. The stamp has been $15 since 1991. The additional revenue from the increase is estimated to be $12 million to $15 million annually.

I am OK with this as long as the funds are used for Waterfowl production areas and goes for the ducks. Otherwise I might be done duck hunting.

The Duckstamp act is pretty clear on how the money must be spent. The cost of land aqusition has continued to rise and the stamp has cost the same since 1991. Now they need to address a woodcock stamp.

I see this as a good thing. It will benefit the ducks more and isn't outrageously expensive or unreasonably increased.

Think you all been out in the cold too much this season. when has this man ever done anything for gun owners, hunters or sportspersons in general. I guarantee this monies will go into the general fund, his general fund and it will wind up in his cronies pockets who in turn will funnel part back into O's pockets. Chicago politics 101.

Teedee5, you don't have a clue about what you are talking about! The money from the purchase of migratory waterfowl stamps is used to provide waterfowl habitat in the US and fund federal waterfowl refuges. This is a cost that was asked for and supported by hunters when the waterfowl population in North America was destroyed. I suggest you do some research on the stamp before you make such ridiculous statements. If it had not been for the forward thinking of some legislators and sportsmen, our waterfowl population would have been too low to hunt decades ago. It is a sad situation when sportsmen make posts like yours in this matter. If you don't want to hunt waterfowl, don't do it, it is not mandatory, however also don't bad mouth the instrument that helped restore waterfowl in the US.

+1 oldtimr! I love to bash the present Potus as often as I can, but I can't believe our member put up that post to do it seeing as how the President has nothing to do with it or the money it brings in!

I have no problem with the cost of the stamp going up. Heck it has been over 20 years since the last increase. Nothing else has remained the same price and the things the funds are used for have all increased in price as well. So, no complaint here.
