Default Anaconda Choke Tube and shells

I mainly goose hunt but I got a Patternmaster Anaconda choke tube and I've shot hevi-metal and I'm not a fan because it's hard to get a good balance with the two different sized shots and I've also shot blindsides and I can't seem to kill a whole lot. Anyone have this choke tube and if so what's your favorite shell with it for geese??? I also typically am shooting at passing geese not a whole lot will decoy this year so 40 yards at least would be nice if the shells can achive kills in that range. I use to use the factory modified but i wanted more distance. So please give me some input on good shells?

I've been using Hevi-Shot for over a dozen years for geese (2 3/4", #4 shot). I shoot them with a Beretta Silver Mallard (390) using the IC factory choke tube. I pattern tested several different choke tubes and found the factory IC to give very even patterns at 40 yards; better than any other chokes I had at the time. Most of my kills have been over decoys and very few birds hit the ground still alive. I've also had more than a couple of dozen one shot kills on geese 40 yards plus out to 82 paces. The Hevi-Shot component in your Hevi-Metal shells will do the job if you do yours. Try a more open choke on the pattern board and see what your gun/choke combination is doing at 40 yards. Look for even distribution with reasonable pellet count.

I have been shooting Hevi-Metal 3" 2's for geese and ducks with a Briley Ext. Ported Imp. Mod. Take geese out to 50yds with no problem and ducks basic same distances. Most are DRT. I just loaded some ITX-2's and 4's for Ducks and geese this past week to take to ON with us in the 20ga. Deadly!!!! 3" with 7/8oz of 2's and 2-3/4" with 1oz of 4's for ducks. Tru-Lock chokes, Mod and Imp. Mod. I shot the Hevi-Metal 3" 2's in the Mod with great results and the ITX in the Imp. Mod. All were DRT!!! Not even flopping!!
