YES I use Hevi shot and Rem HD
But I use it spairingly

I mainly use it for geese that will not decoy ( #4 in either )
But use some #7 and #6 for ducks for the 3 shot

I also use #4 HD in a 20 gau for the Neice and Nefue

As for holding up
With the right choke , both HD and Hevi will kill geese past any ethical range you should be shooting
I have shot other peoples crippled geese at 80 yds and cleanly killed them
But I know how to shoot that far and I had the corect choke in , it is way to tight for normal work

I am not a huge fan of federal ammo but I tried out the black cloud's the other day and i was very impressed. The five ducks i used them on died before they hit the water no cripples or sporty ducks at all. I usualy shot the xperts and have to use a second or third shot to finish the deal but not with the black clouds. give them a try and at 20 bucks for 25 shells they are a little easer on the wallet.

I've noticed that the different loads suck equally.. With the pure amount of shells I shoot due to hunting 3 days a week, I could not possibly afford to load up on HDs and all that.... I just shoot 3.5 inch winchester loads from wally world...

We really have had great sucess with the Winchester Xpert....but there's a lot of good shells out there.
Center of the pattern is deadly!
