Default Texas Rags on Canadas?

I hunt in Colorado off a small river. We always do well on Ducks, but we don't have any geese decoys, so despite having alot of geese around us, we haven't harvested any this year. This weekend is it for the year for us, and I would like to get into some geese, but I don't have the money to pick up any decoys right now. How well can I expect Texas rags to work? I've heard of them alot with snow geese but never with Canadians. It's a pretty small sand bar, how many should I throw out? Or will they flare the ducks, and be more harm than good? Thanks for the help, new to the goose game.
