Default What kind of duck is this?

A friend of mine shot this duck near Siren WI. We've been trying to figure out what kind of duck it is for a while and we're pretty sure it's a ring-billed or ring-necked duck. Does this sound right? You can't see it in the picture but it has a golden eye. Is there a way to tell if its an adult vs a juvenile? is this a common duck for the area? He's planning on having it mounted if the price is reasonable, any guesses on how much it might cost? he said the lower beak is damaged from a pellet, but i thought a taxi could fix that pretty easily? Right now he's got it in the freezer with the beak and feet wrapped in paper towel, should he do anything else with it if he's gonna get it mounted? Thanks for the info guys!

I had a ring neck done cost $180 but not to get your buddy down but the bird looks like it has a lot of pin feathers left. I should of not had mine done because the neck still had its pin feathers.

Thats a ringneck for sure, dont know about that area but in Oregon those are a staple for us waterfowlers. Always plenty of ringers.
