Default Goose & Duck Flare?

I hunt out of a boat that has a blind around it but when ever geese or ducks flare above my boat. i dont get why because everything is camo inside and out of my boat. I was wondering if you guys that float hunt
have the same deal goin on? But all of the land is private so you cant set up on shore.Any tips will help thanks.

you can have the most expensive high definition, max1, realtree, whatever camoflage in the world and ducks are still going to avoid you like the plague if it doesnt look natural. i've seen more guys try to set up boat blinds that have a grassy camo pattern up against a dark forresty background and they are lucky if they get a shot at a coot. i've got a 17 foot wareagle boat but if i'm hunting flooded millet or something, i make darn sure not to hunt within 200 yards of the thing cause it busts one duck after another. your best bet would be to find the camo that best matches the shoreline, and then try to hunt as close to that shoreline as possible withoout actually being on shore. -or better yet, try to get permission from the property owner. theres no replacement for a good old brush blind right where the birds want to be.

Are you using in natural concealment to aid in your blilnd? If you think of your boat in birds eye view... They fly around seeing the same shoreline and then boom. a weird dark spot. They will always flare. try to get your boat right up along the shore, and use a generous amount of the surrounding vegitation to bring your boat into the elements!

Even if everything inside your blind is camo, looking down from where the birds are, all they might see is a wring of camo and a big black spot in the middle from where the sunlight isn't getting to. Try to cover the blind up on top as much as possible if you haven't already.

I agree with mjensen. you can have the best camo made, but if it dosent match the natural surroundings its not gonna work! whats around you an what camo are you using?
