RE: calling ducks
A wood duck call. I don't know who makes it but they make an adjustable call that can be used for wood ducks, pintails, widgeon, and quail. They're only like $12 it looks just like a little whistle. I got mine from cabelas but I've seen them everywhere they sell duck calls. Even a regular mallard call works. In fields a goose call works.
