Flextone, Knight and Hale, and Haydel all make wood duck calls. I've never used them, but I have been intending to.

The best way I have found to kill wood ducks consistantly is to be paying attention right at legal shooting time. They seem to be the first in the air and they don't work well compared to other species. If you can get a shot at them in range... do it. Most of the time they will just sweep by and light wide. If you are in a very small hole in a swamp, they will often land with your deeks. Calling seems to be most effective when you can hear them off somewhere sitting on the water. They will usually fly past if you call to them whenever they decide to get up and move.

I use a 6-in-1 whistle. Gets the job done. The flextone and haydels have both produced decent notes for me in the store... but the DC makes his sound awfully good too... but of course thats why he's the Duck Commander.

Ditto on the 6 in 1 whistle, but never had much use for a call.. A couple of deeks in timber hole and they are either going to drop in or not.. The key to locating them is to find water that has acorns in it.. Then just stand by the tree and wait. .They will dip in at first light.. Better be quick on your feet cause them little boogers are hard to hit.. But they sure taste good.
