Default When to start scouting?

Just wondering when you guys start scouting for the goose season. In WI the season opens the 1st of september and wondering when i should start looking. i feel a month early is too soon because i think the geese will get off the field by then. just wondering what you guys do...

I just started scouting in Michigan. I believe for the early season they Will be very predictable. I have been seeing a few big bunches of birdes in the same general area for the last month or two. They will stay in the same general area until the have reason not too.

I hunt in WI too and I've started looking at fields that are positioned well in relation to flying routes used last year. I'm just starting to see geese flying these last couple days. Start now, it'll get more productive as the season nears.

For resident geese, they do about the same thing, the same time every single day, unless you start messing with them or shooting at them. They get smart really really fast. If you can pattern them now, or two weeks ahead of time, its a good idea. Just make sure you don't pressure or bump them off!
