Quit calling if the ducks are coming at you with wings set. It will only spook them. I was out on bass lake and missed a shot at 4 different flocks because some dummy started calling as soon as he saw birds... Usually 50 yds away coming in on him.
A chuckle is fine, but dont blast the ducks with calls when that close! Thats the time you should be pullin up a gun!

SO youre telling me if you got ducks low, coming in on your spread, 50 yards away, you arent going to try and get your gun up before they are over you? I cant even see the logic of calling them. Instinct maybe...

If that DUMMY was in your blind/boat, you should have took care of that after the first flock. Sometimes if a nearby hunter has been a butt, I will hail call right before he gets to shoot which usually fixes his major malfuntion pretty quickly.
