I personally like big shot. T or BBB in my 870 12 ga and T or F in my BPS 10. You must pattern them in your own gun to know. I like the penetration of the large shot the best but I have also killed Canada geese with 4 shot when they came over and I did not have time to switch loads while hunting primarily for ducks. Most important is what your gun patterns the best.

We never use anything any heavier than #4's, but on the other hand, we also have an excellent spot where the Canadians drop right into the 5 yard range. It makes a big difference on the situation.

Don't use anything larger then 1 shot on a full choke, you'll blow it out. I dont really like T much, not much of a spread. I'd suggest 1 or 2 shot. If you have 3 1/2 shells, I'd use 4 shot for both duck and goose.

Top killer inside 50 yds. using Modified choke, is No.4 in Bismuth, Matrix or Hevi-shot. I prefer Winchester Bismuth, much easier on teeth! Beyond 50 yds., you'll need #2's of same brands and a full choke. A word of warning though, few people are capable of regularly getting the shot pattern to meet the bird beyond 50 yds. and one thing I really don't enjoy is crippling wildlife.
These shells are expensive but one shot kills the bird.

# 2's combine the best of good patterns and big enough shot to hit hard
