Default GHG "Hot Buys"

Who has any experience with them?I heard that sometimes the paint comes off of them.I know GHG puts out some great decoys so I was wandering if they have fixed this problem. My season is done here in Indiana so I am looking into buying some new decoys for next year. I think right now though I am looking into the life size series they look really good and I have heard some great things about them. I am trying to build a spread from scratch. So I am going to start with mallards first. This was my first year waterfowl hunting so I didn't buy to many decoy's.

Thats all I use for our marsh/small water spread. Had them for 3-4 years probably killed 600 birds over them. no real paint issued with them, Between myself and 1 buddy we use 10 dozen. Bought the same day. Only have had 2 fade and they were in a spot we didnt see them when picking up on the last day of season,, spent the whole winter stuck in the ice. they look like black ducks now

Thanks that is a lot of help. If I buy the hot buys which I will really look into it I can get twice as many for the same price as the life size series.

ya im buying a pack or two of these soon as well. On other forums i've got the same replies, they've all said they are great and havent really had paint issues. Some people say the older models were rough when it came to the paint, but they say that ghg has improved them and they are great now. Also they say they're great for how cheap they are.

These decoys are great, definately worth it. Ive hunted with the life size GHG and the hot buys, they both seem to have the same affect, only difference really is the size(hot buys being smaller). No problems with the paint.

12 mallards for $25 bucks? u cant be that.. i got a couple dozen, really good looking and perfect for marsh or small water hunting. no issues with paint. they dance really nice in the water, and honestly, they look like real birds. do it. good deal

I picked up a dozen last summer. Beat the hell out of them all season and was surprised as to how little paint chipped. I also had heard there was this issue, but still with their price point; it was hard to say no; even if they lasted only a season.

The only mistake I made was to buy the decoys that had all the heads in the same position. Not sure it makes that much of a difference, but it would have been nice not to have all the decoys with the same head position.

Good luck

The first year they came out, the paint would fall off as soon as a 5mph crosswind hit them. Water...forget it. But, from what I understand, Avery made some switches in paint, and has them right now. Everyone's statements above certainly seem to prove that. Good looking blocks for the small price.
