Anybody ever try making Silhouette goose decoys?? I want to try this coming week... I want to use something light.. so i dont think ill use plywood.. i believe i'm gonna try investing in the material that signs you would get to put in your yards for voting or such.. Does anyone have any suggestions? and should i go for bigger size or go for more..? is there any special paints I should be using also?

suggestions or ideas appreciated thanks!

I know a couple guys that go around election night and literally collect multiple city blocks worth of elections signs for this purpose.

Heres a site that has patterns for geese.

I have more silo's than I know what to do with. I have made them out of plywood, luan, and now am making them out of plastic election signs. I made my first stencil on a pizza box, cut it out, then traced it onto the plywood. Over the years the cut out style has evolved, but they work great. The stakes for the plywood and luan were from a steel fabricator that stamped them out, but we first started with chain link fencing tensioning straps. A pain to cut and drill, pretty heavy, but worked. Good luck and have fun. its always excitign to shoot birds over decoys you have made yourself.
