Default Non toxic shot

I am interested in starting duck hunting. I have a Rem model 870, and am wondering what kinds of shot I can use, and what kind of choke to get.

In Georgia I think only lead shot is illegal. Could I use hevi-shot? If so, I guess I only need a choke that is approved for this type of shot as opposed to a choke approved for steel.

I have already read the posts about not shooting steel shot through a full choke. However, is it ok to shoot hevi-shot through a full choke (with an approved choke tube)?

Default RE: Non toxic shot

Hevi-Shot has the hardness of steel and you should not use a full choke with it. It patterns tighter lead so for the most part I would pattern your gun starting with a IC choke.
