Default Woodducks still!

Been chasing bambi with the muzzleloader last couple days. My afternoon stand is where a 90* ditch corner seperates an unharvested corn field on one side, the other side is a large woodlot. The last 2 afternoons while walking the ditch edge into the stand Ive kicked up a pile of woodducks,, mostly beautiful colored drakes. I cant believe theyre still around! Hooked up a corn field for next week thats got about 1000 geese going into it in the afternoons!

I do believe it's time to quit deer hunting A Wood duck is better than fillet mignon IMO and those deer, well they kinda stink anyway

No thanks Ill pass! 2 of us have exclusive permissionfor a 3000 acre farm that hasnt been deer hunted in around 15 years. Buddy shot a 140"+ 10 point on monday. When the farmer saw ithe asked why we didnt wait for a big one??Season closes saturday and they are in rut big time. Few more days of deer hunting,,,, im actually enjoying it again this year!

Neighboring farm killed this brute today. kind of makes the decision easy!
