Yes, and the bigger the load and the pellet size the higher the chance of barrel/choke damage. Only use a full choke rated for steel shot.

yep, what he said but I hear that no matter what that you never use anything bigger than BBB in a full.

I believe that most waterfowlers use a modified choke with steel shot. I`ve been using one ever since the steel shot laws came into effect. I use BBB or BBs and mostly #3 in my Express. I`ve had no trouble with either.

I would never go to a full choke for any non-toxic shot.....modified is tight enough and like I have said in other posts light modified is probably perfect.....

Ron - what shells do you use the most??

I'll say yes too. Steel patterens tighter. Mod=Full, IC=IM, & Skeet=Mod or it's close to that.

I did it last year because I didn't get my gun until about a week before the season started and I was just shooting smaller than 2's. Results were less than steller. My barrel never started to bulge, but I only shot it about 50 times.

Again gotta cast my vote for the full with steel. No. 2 that is. When I use IC it seems like the birds always fly out of sight limping.

Adam, most of the time I use 3" #3s with a modified choke. This is for all of my duck hunting and for geese over decoys(works for me). I use my 10ga with reloads for pass shooting geese.
