Default NOVA??

I may be a little behind here but may someone can catch me up to speed. I just got the limbsaver pad Part #10402 for the nova synthetic stock and it came with an adapter piece and 2 screws. I removed my old factory pad and can not figure out how to install the new one. Does it install on top of the original. Thanks for any help. --Millpond
