Default rail hunting??????

Has anyone every hunted these or ate on?our limit is 25 here in illionois and i dont recall ever seeing one before.

I believe rails are those little birds that always fly right in front of you as your walkin out to the marsh, but im not sure and ive never tried to hunt 'em
