Default My Son's first Duck Hunt

Well I took my 6 year old for the first time on Saturday, As with any father that enjoys hunting they pray that their son will take to hunting as I do,Our Squirrell and Deer hunts have not gone well because he is to young to sit patiently! On Saturday evening I decided to pack up some drinks, snacks and the Game Boy and go to the blind with him. Well I have to say I think we had a great time he got envolved in setting out the decoys and getting them back up, I sit him up on the edge of the blind and we talked and played until we saw ducks then he would get down and wait but insisted on getting back up afterwards. We ended up with one duck that he insisted on retreiving from the boat. Well I hope that this is the beginning of many more trips together.I have to say I am proud of him. I have attached some photos of the trip.

Looks like he's off to a great start. Good job. Keep it interesting for him and he'll love it.

Guys I totally forgot the call! He has his own and been blowing it since age 3 or 4, but as you would imagine it sounds nothing like a duck. But thanks we will take it next time.
