Md, you are right...but in my opinion the main differance is this. DU is more for waterfowl habitat and creating more and doing more for the ducks. Delta, is more for hunters rights and things of that nature...just my opinion...

Below are the mission statements of each group. Delta is waterfowl research and has actually trained scientist hired by DU. Both are valuable, I serve for a DU chapter commitee and enjoy it.

Delta will provide knowledge, future leaders, solutions and its passion for waterfowl to scientists, resource managers, waterfowlers, conservationists and the public to enhance waterfowl populations while securing the future of waterfowling.

Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.
