Post filming help

hey guys i have a jvc 700x camcorder. its a good camera but the audio is not good and the focus is difficult to work with. i am looking for a new one but i dont know where to start. ive been looking at campbell cameras but i dont know what to get. i dont want to spend three grand on a setup but im prepared to spend some as i know its expensive. maybe a simple one i can customize later like a mic and lense etc. something i can add or detach mics or lenses or handles stuff like that. any suggestions???
