From what I could see of the samsung model (kept getting an error trying to view it) The Panny model has more optical zoom and more HD space.......I'd go with the Panasonic.

but for my purposes?
all i want to do is film some videos and hunts, have high quality videos and have the camera be pretty easy to put videos on youtube and maybe make some dvds.
i just dont want to spend money on something i dont need, but if the panasonic is defidentally best, then ill get it

Do a google search with the manufacturer, model, and "review". That's what I do. read any and everything you find. You have to make the final decision according to your needs.
