Default What do you think happened?

The problem I am about to describe happened to two friends this past year. While reviewing their footage.....the screen turned blue for a period of time before returning to normal playing.

One was filmed on a V1U and the other was filmed on a XH-A1. One was filmed in the spring and one was filmed in the fall. One tape was reviewed right after the footage was captured....the other was reviewed several hours after. One was filmed in warm weather and reviewed outside....the other was filmed in 20 degree weather and reviewed in a cabin several hours later.

Not much in common with each scenario so I am lost as to what the problem might be.

Any thoughts???

My first guess would be moisture but the spring hunt was dry.

Blue screen usually means dirty heads, could have been a bad batch of tapes if they were using the same ones, but normally it is caused by dust in the heads........sometimes if it occured on playback you can get the footage back, but if it was during record your screwed.

Can caused from moistur also, if it was rainning or if the camera was real warm and then the cold air hits can do it also.. Blue screening is a common problem while filming out doors and can make you cry at times.. Walt

Actually if your cold camera is brought in to a warm place (usually your house) it will create condensation........not the other way around
