Use a mild cleaner made specifically for lens cleaning and tissue paper (not kleenex) spray the cleaner on the paper and wipe the entire lens........take a clean ,dry, tissue and wipe off any excess cleaner. Buy a quality lens filter and cover up your expensive camera lens

A little...and I mean littlerubbing alcohol with paper towlshould remove it, and it evaporates really fast, so no mess.

Are you sure thatusing rubbing alcohol won't mess up the lens?
