Default More grouse and a turkey..

I found another drumming log this morning. By the looks of the chit on it - he uses it quite a bit. I hope to catch him all fanned out.

Another grouse from yesterday

And I seen a nice gobbler strutting, but by the time I got the camera ready - he seen me and bolted. I think it turned out ok anyway..

I get done with midnights in the morning and will be off for 5 days. Hope to get some good shots then.
Take care.

Candid shots for birds! I like how you focused on their whole figure! Your takes show that you were very careful! Nice shots!

Your shots are always so impressive. Do you find youself doing a lot of sitting waiting for these shots, or do you just have these locations pegged?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Matt and mlo, I pretty much know the general areas of their breeding grounds every year. They tend to use the same drumming logs every year, Most of the pics are taken right out my truck window. I just get the camera ready before I get close to where I know they hang out.

Some will just sit there and let you shoot lots of pics, others won't even let you get the truck stopped before they take off. Its just the luck of the draw I guess.
