Shotgun Mic

The shotgun mic on my Sony HVR sucks!!!! Any suggestion on an upgrade???

Azden makes some nice shotgun mics that won't break the bank.

Check out the Rode NTG-2 also.

Sennheiser makes the best , but they are also one of the highest priced...........as for the rode,if you are going to use a suspension system I would look elwhere as i can't stand their huge mount, but the NTG2 itself is an excellent mic.............as for Azden the suspension system is good, the mics. are reasonably priced around $175 for the SGM1x and $250 for the SGM2x, the sgm 2x has both an omni direction and a super cardoid mic.

Unless you are using a consumer camera, stay away from any mics. that use a mini plug.............XLR is the way to go.

We use the NTG-2 and have no complaints. It sounds great, but then again, I've never heard audio through a Sennheiser.
