Default Seeking Freelance Outdoor Videographers and Field Producers

Vital Impact Outdoors is looking for freelance outdoor videographers and field producers.

Right now we are looking for freelancers to help put together a pilot episode that will be used to gather sponsors and aid in selling the show to TV stations and distributors. There is a good chance that this will lead to a contracted partnership with pay. For above average field producers, profit sharing is a possibility.

Vital Impact Outdoors will be an excited fast paced show about the grandeur of hunting and fishing, shot entirely in HD. Everything from video and audio to the story telling technique will be extremely high quality. A big focus of Vital Impact Outdoors will be encouraging children and women to take up hunting and fishing. A temporary website can be found here. It will be updated as details are finalized.

Here's what we're looking for. In order to create the pilot episode, we need footage - and lots of it. This is a list of video we need:

* Hunts: any game animal in North America - must include footage of the hunter with downed game animal talking about the hunt
* Fishing: any fish in North America - must include footage of those fishing talking about where they are and what they are fishing for
* B-roll: any footage of wild game and animals in North America
* Children and women: any footage of kids and women enjoying the outdoors hunting and fishing
* Field Tips: tips for making hunting and fishing more effective and/or enjoyable

How we will determine whether or not to use your footage:

* Stable image
* Quality audio
* Good framing
* Subject in focus
* Good iris
* Storytelling ability

Remember, we are looking for high quality video, audio, and storytelling.

If you have some footage that fits what we are looking for, please send a PM with a short description of the video and, if possible, a link to view a sample online. If you do not have an online link to the video, a mailing address will be provided to mail the video for consideration.

Should your video be chosen, a master copy will be required. This can be submitted on tape or as a full res QT file on CD or DVD. All raw footage will be required. We will NOT accept any pre-edited segments. If chosen for use in the pilot episode, you will be given full credit and a copy of the show. If you wish to pursue the possibility of becoming a contracted freelance videographer or field producer, you must be willing to shoot in HD beginning as early as Fall 2008.

The pilot episode is scheduled to be complete by the end of April 2008.

Is this a paying gig or donated time and footage?

Its more like a job interview. If your footage is acceptable, once the show gets going you will have the opportunity to enter a contract to provide footage at an agreed upon rate.
