Default Can someone help me out?

I was on my way back from fishing just before dark here, and saw a cow moose and a calf. So I shot a few pics with my digital camera. When reviewing them the screen was all black. Nowit was daylight still but the pics were stii all black. I could see the moose perfectly in my view finder, so is there anything I can do to help get a decent picture at this time of day?

If I am understanding you correctly, I am not sure how that could happen?

What you see in your viewfinder, or on your LCD screen, is what you get in a picture.

In other words, if you could see them through the camera.....you should have gotten a picture.

Pretty strange, I will have to ask a couple of the camera gurus I know what this could possibly be.

Yeah I could see them perfectly in my view finder but, the LCD screen came out black! The best time of day to see moose and deer is just before dark here so I would love to find out what I can do. I put the balck photos on this computor and tried to edit it. After about three or four edits I have a photo that looks like a black and white cartoon! If there is something I can do like adding some kind of lense to help bring in more light or something that would be OK with me. I just do not know. Here is the best I could get them to come out, beside a skidder tire looking at me.

Does the opticalviewfinder on your camera run parallel to the main lens, or does your viewfinder actually look through the lens? On most digital cameras that are not SLR, the viewfinder is parallel to the main lens, positioned above it,and what you see through the viewfinder is not necessarily what the lens sees. The LCD sees what the sensors in the lens see in real time, giving a much more accurate represenation of what the picture will look like.

Yes, the view finder runs parallel to the main lens. When I zoom in on the objects I want it shows the object coming in, so I am guessing that it sees in real time but, I am not sure.
