Default mics

by the sound of it, everyone here is using mics with there camera. does this only help pick up yur voice whispering or does it help pick up sounds in the forest? my dad and i just got a jvc everio 20 gb hard drive camcorder and i plan on filming hunts with it. can i get mics for this setup? also wats a good camera arm for the tree?

I use senheiser wireless mics on my hunt. You can get them at fullcompass.com. They are really nice. I use the HunterCam Cradle for my arm. It is nice as well and lends a bunch of flexability. I just got back from Oklahoma and it worked flawlessly.
