anybody familiar with the colorado springs area, who could advise me on some places to look at within a half hour or so drive of Ft Carson?

I live here, as far as upland birds there are some Scale Quail in this area. And if the base is open there are some on Fort Carson. There are birds along 25 south, but I have not been able to get permission to hunt. There are quail around Pueblo Res. also, but that is an hour away. There are Blue Grouse and Ptarmigan on Pikes Peak. The best hunting is at least 2 hours away.
