Late season Pheasant Hunt

Went on a little snow pheasant hunt a couple of weeks ago for something different. Here are a couple of pics.

Late season hunts or preserve hunting can break up the winter season and are fun to boot.

nice birds, and a good way to end or work the late season. I've never hunted in snow, being born and bred So. Cal. native.
Here's what the late season for us looks like, at the bottom of the state in the Imperial Valley.

[8D]That was the last day of the season. The season out here opens the second Saturday of November and runs for 44 days.
The late season for dove opens the same day, so on the opener it was banging dove at daybreak, then head to the pheasant fields for the 8:00AM start!

I had a very good season, made seven trips down to the valley for the weekends and managed birds each weekend, the dove shooting was exceptional, especially for winter, I limited each day I was there for seven straight weekends!
