Looking Like a Good Year For Grouse
It looks like another good year for Grouse.
Decent weather during the hatch.
Not as many bugs as last year, but the berry crop is good, especially "Snow berries".
Last year was the best year we've ever had, but this year should be almost as good. We've been free-roading the dogs and they are putting up lots of birds.
Lots of Quail too.

Grouse #'s are up from the looks of it in my area also, along with pheasant and huns also. Grouse and huns open next week here on Sept. 1. Folks combining seeing lots of young birds. Should be some good dog work this fall.

Yep, we are off the beating path, but more and more people seem to find it. We were just out in western part of state camping for a week or so, seems certain areas are moist, while others are in stark contrast and dry or dryer then you would even suspect this time of year. Stopped at my deer n elk place for a night on the way back, seen couple covey's of huns and a bunch of sharptails, not to mention some of the pre-mentioned deer n elk...lol. I will add this, the area around Lewistown was really beautiful now, looks more like early June or even late may, green as I have seen it in August.
