If you said 2016 I'd be up for it. Boy #2 due any day, so no trips this fall. Next year I might try pheasants and ducks in South Dakota, if I draw a non-resident waterfowl license. If no luck in the draw, maybe I'll just go for pheasants, or maybe try grouse in the Midwest instead.

A buddy of mine used to go to Michigan every year with his setters. Said the timber cutting/re growth was a lot better than here in PA, and always had good success. Stayed at Fay's Motel* in Grayling, MI - nothing fancy but it was dog-friendly. He developed MS about 10 years ago so this isn't recent info, but hope it helps.

*Just checked, they have a website and they say they'll give free bird hunting tips

Brookville, 20 minutes north of that scandalous rodent Punxsutawney Phil. If you've got a good bird dog I have a camp and 16,000 acres of nearby Game Lands.

Think about heading west. You can hunt dusky grouse, ptarmigan, prairie chickens, sharptails and sage grouse as well as pheasants, chukars, quail and hungarian partridge all in one trip.
