For both groups to think they'd shot the bird you'd have to be within 50 yards of each other at the time of the shot. I'd be concerned if I was that close to other shooters and didn't know?

Proper etiquette would be if you get to a field and someone else s already hunting it, you move on. A couple of years ago two friends and I and our dogs were hunting a field on private property. Another group came in from the road where they parked their vehicle behind ours and ran down the edge of the field past us to the end of the field and started hunting toward us. That is how people get hurt or killed in an accident and also depending on who they do it too, a fist in the nose. Shooting game is not that important to anyone with half a rain.
