say what you want, but all the big city hunters around here use a pump or auto.whats wrong with a singleshot?if you can shoot you dont need anything else.aint nothing like putting up a wall of flak for birds.and if you are successful with a 410 or 28ga YOU ARE GOOD.whats the matter guys?cant shoot that accurrate?

I agree buy a pump put a longer dowel in to reduce the chamber, I bought a Mossberg 535 2yrs ago I use this gun for everything from quail to deer they run about $245-255.

single shots are great for learning. a single would serve you well for turkey. you can also hunt the upland birds with it but when bird hunting there will be misses and birds rarely fly alone.

The best way to teach someone to wing shoot is a single shot. They will realize after a few misses that there are no back up shots and learn how to shoot right. I have a nephew that shoots five shells at every bird that flushes. His philosophy is fill the air with lead and maybe i'll get them. A pump or auto is not for learn'in. Learn to consistantly kill them with one shell and you are much better for it. Just my opinion!
