Default Quail in NJ

i live in northern nj, and ive been pheasant hunting and really enjoy it. i would like to attempt to shoot some quail, but the closest place to do that here in nj is 2 hours away. before i make the trip and waste my time, i was wondering what was the best way to pursue this stocked game bird. i dont have a dog, so is it similar to kicking brush just like pheasant hunting? or are the tactics different?
