Default South Dakota Pheasants

Leaving 5 weeks from today for South Dakota. We will staying in the Groten area, and hunting from Webster to Aberdeen on private and public land. Will the crops all be out by then? How are the bird numbers? and the weather?

The crops will all be out by then. The weather, around Aberdeen in December, plan for anything. Has been very mild thus far. We are still in the 50's.

Plan for days in the 50's to sub zero. Hard to predict here in the winter. Could be 40 and sunny one day and 0 with 40mph sustained wind the next.

Default pheasants

Leaving Friday for south dakota. How is the crop situation? Any news on revoting next week on raising the limit (I know it failed last week, but there was talk of a revote) Looks like its been pretty cold, Is the water froze good so you can get in on the cattails.

How was the hunt? Not even going to ask about the weather. Hope you brought warm clothes.

Please let us know how you did. I was out there for the opener and we did okay considering all crops and rain we had to deal with. As usual I didn't make it out a second time this year. Hopefully I will make it out twice next year and give the late season a try.

Awesome hunt. really cold on Monday, but we still got 15 of our 18 birds. Saturday and wednesday we had great weather (high teens) birds sat good, had some really good dog work. 6 of us hunting we got 12 to 16 birds the first four days, limited out our last day. Really good time
