Default Dog Vests

Does anyone use dog vests for their hunting companion while upland hunting? I noticed several cuts, maybe from barbed wire or thorns, in his "leg pits".

Yes, I bought one from bass Pro. Max my lab, he would get done hunting and look like he had a fight with a barbed wire fence. they help.

I use chest protectors on my girls in the fall and summer then switch to sleeves when it gets cooler Cabela's has some good ones.

I just bought a Remington Abrasion vest from bass pro. It lasted one hunt and was destroyed. the vest shredded at the seams. It did protect my dog's chest from briars but also rubbed his "armpits' or "legpits" if you rather. Won't buy another one like that, instead I am looking for a rugged neoprene reversible (camo/ blaze orange) vest. Anyone use the Cabelas vest? How do they hold up?

Default vest

The cabelas neoprene vest work well, just make sure you cut it to fit your dog.

I also like this one for early season hunting and long days.....

That early season vest looks more durable than the Remington one I bought. Thanks for the info about the neoprene vest

Not to hyjack your thread, but I was wondering about a dog vest that is not Neopren? Maybe something made out of the material our upland pants are made from???

I like that early season vest, I am going to look into that... thanks

AR 34,
The upland vests work. you may have an issue with the velcro in heavy brush. as in dog has vest on going in, and no vest coming out

Check out the link on my previous post. The vest is not neoprene, it is an upland vest.
