Iowa Openener SUCKED!

Went to Iowa for season opener and saw only 3 birds. Only about 40% of crops were out at the time, but between the hard snows and floods, I dont know if Ill make a return this year. Did anyone else have any success?

we have greatest phesant hunting in world here in pa.

i saw 2 phesants for 3 weeks of on and off hunting [:@]

I dont think anyone had very good success opening weekend. With more of the crops out now we are seeing a lot more birds but still not as many as ususal. what countydid you hunt?

yup the iowa opener did suck.... we hunted private land all day and saw only 15-20 birds. 95% of the crops were in at that time. now the hunting is awesome though and like 10% of the crops are still in. i am in the northwest corner of the state, the only place where pheasant numbers in iowa are up this year. once the crops got out the hunting got amazing quickly. best i did this year was limit out after 12 minutes on a crp tract after the corn had been cut beside it. other than that its taken an hour or two.
