I like 'The Best Way to Train Your Gun Dog: The Delmar Smith Method' by Bill Tarrant. It's old school, but I like it.

Take a look at any NAVHDA Chapter in your area. North American Versatile Hunting Dog Assoc. At the chapter level they help train you to train your own versatile pointing dog.

I've read several, but "Gun Dog" by Richard Wolter is my favorite. Very old school but has a lot of dog psychology that has fit my dog's to a tee.

DITTOS on the NAVHDA. You owe it to your dog to train him to the best of all his natural abilities. Youll be doing yourself a favor by placing the call. Lots of luck!
