I don't think quail will make it during your winters. Chukars are strong hearty birds and work great in recall pens when they are young. I released 1000 Chukars this year on the preserve. not all at one time but during the season. If they got away we never found them again. Don't know were they go or if they get eaten so quickly. Huns or pheasants would probobly be your best bet.
Thanks, we have a club for pheasants, and we put out 300 every year and they do great. I would like to put out one of the others just for the heck of it. I like the bob whites whistle in the morning, sounds neet like " 0 here I am come and catch me."
