Pistol Grip

Just curious if anyone uses a pistol grip stock on their shot gun. I was reading somewhere that it actually helps (especially inthe recoil dept). I've seen some guys use it for turkey, but never on quail, pheasant or dove.

i tried it once didnt like it just felt odd I would stick to the normal way

Until i got my Mossberg 500 thats all i hunted with was a Remington 870 w/ black pistol grip stock, and i loved that gun, but now i like my Mossberg better!!

Works great for me. Easier for me to keep my hands in the right spot so I draw up more consistently.

The LOP on my Moss 835 is a little long and so I was considering having a gunsmith reduce it a tad, but then I was looking in the Cabela's catalog and saw some tacticle adjustable stocks w/ pistol grip. I'm not sure what adjusting the LOP on a shotgun costs but I figure it would be about the cost of the adjustable stock ($50-$60). The only difference would be the pistol grip. It's a thought, but I'm not sold on it yet.

spuddog did the catalog say if the adjustable stock would fit a Remmington 870, or a Mossberg 500? if so how much did it cost?

I got one free with my SBE II. I use it for turkey hunting only but it does help steading the shot for long periods of time, which can happen with turks. I probably would not have bought it on my own, but its fun to change it up and easy to do so.

Sorry haven't checked this post for a while. I though it had dried up. I've seen tacticle stocks w/ pistol grips and adjustable LOP for both and they are in the $60 - $100+ range. The one I saw was about $70 and fit Moss 500/835. I have the 835.
